Tuscaloosa, AL (SportsNetwork. Vapormax Plus Soldes .com) - The top-ranked Kentucky Wildcats put their flawless record in harms way as they take on the Alabama Crimson Tide in an SEC showdown at the Coleman Coliseum on Saturday afternoon. After edging out both Ole Miss and Texas A&M in overtime thrillers the last two times out, John Caliparis Wildcats got back to their dominant selves, blowing out Missouri on Tuesday, 86-37. The lopsided win was the 16th straight to open the season, tying the 1933-34 team for the fourth-best start in school history. Anthony Grants Crimson Tide will present quite the challenge for Kentucky. Alabama comes into this contest at a respectable 12-4 overall, including a 2-1 mark in SEC play. However, the Tide are coming off a 68-66 loss at South Carolina, which halted a six-game win streak. The last time Alabama played host to a top-ranked team was in 1994, a 66-64 victory over then No. 1 Arkansas. This marks the 114th all-time meeting between these two teams. Kentucky holds a sizeable 103-37 advantage, including wins in eight of the last 10 meetings. However, Alabama has won the last two matchups at Coleman Coliseum. Kentucky completely annihilated Missouri last time out, as the Wildcats took a 44-18 lead into halftime and then rolled up another 42 points in the second half, en route to the 49-point rout. In all, UK shot a solid .482 from the floor, while forcing Missouri into a dreadful .271 shooting effort. The Wildcats also abused the Tigers on the glass, outrebounding them 46-27. Aaron Harrison led the way offensively with 16 points. Willie Cauley-Stein added 13 points, while Karl-Athony Towns posted a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. The Wildcats have had some close calls of late, but for the most part the team has excelled at both ends of the floor, as evidenced by the nations best scoring margin (+25.9). Offensively, the team is averaging 76.5 ppg, while ranking second nationally in scoring defense (50.6 ppg) and first in blocked shots (132). The Crimson Tide also pride themselves on solid defense, although the numbers arent as eye-popping as Kentuckys. Alabama is holding foes to just 62.1 ppg this year, on just over 40 percent shooting (.407). The team also forces an impressive 14.5 turnovers per game. Levi Randolph is the straw that stirs the drink in Tuscaloosa this year. He is tops on the team in scoring (15.1 ppg), assists (2.9 apg) and steals (1.6 spg), while finding time to pull down 4.8 rpg. Ricky Tarrant and Rodney Cooper provide scoring depth with 13.3 and 10.7 ppg, respectively. When Jackie Bradley Jr. came to the plate to face a position player with two men on base, he felt it was time to be aggressive. Bradley hit a two-run double off Chicago infielder Leury Garcia in the top of the 14th inning and the Red Sox outlasted the White Sox 6-4 in a game that lasted 5 hours and 17 minutes Wednesday night. "Youve got guys in scoring position and a walk doesnt really help much," Bradley said. "I definitely wanted to make him throw a strike after walking the previous batter and I was able to get in a great count and put a good swing on it." With the score tied at 4 after 13 innings, the White Sox ran out of pitchers after Daniel Webb threw 59 pitches in three innings, so manager Robin Ventura turned to Garcia (0-1) to start the 14th. Garcia is the first White Sox position player to take the mound since Casper Wells pitched a scoreless inning last June. "We just, for one reason or another, we didnt seem to throw it over," Ventura said. "So, you know, a game that if you are going to give them that many opportunities, you are little surprised you are in it that late into the game. "Once it starts going a little bit later, you sniff around at guys that can pitch. And there were a lot of takers. But he got the nod." Garcia retired the first two batters, but then walked Daniel Nava and Jonathan Herrera, and Bradley followed with his big hit. Chris Capuano (1-0) pitched 2 2/3 innings of scoreless relief to get the win. Burke Badenhop got the final out for his first save of the season. Each team blew a lead in the ninth inning or later. The Red Sox managed just six hits, but took advantage of the 15 walks issued by Chicago piitching, including 11 after the seventh inning. Grossiste Chinois Nike Air Max. The White Sox have had a strong start to the season in every area except the bullpen. Before Wednesdays struggles, Chicago relievers had allowed 29 earned runs in 40 innings pitched for an ERA of 6.53. In scoring twice in the eighth and ninth innings, Boston had just one hit — a weak infield single down the third-base line — but were walked six times in the two innings by White Sox relievers. Alexei Ramirez hit a two-run homer to extend his hitting streak to begin the season, and John Danks allowed one run in six innings to give White Sox a 3-1 lead after seven innings. The win snapped a three-game losing streak for the Red Sox. "Our pitchers did a heck of a job," Boston manager John Farrell said. "Our bullpen came in with no margin for error and put up zeroes. We had multiple opportunities with men on base and were still grinding away. We took base on balls when they were issued, which was a lot, and Im thankful we walk away with the win." NOTES: White Sox 1B Paul Konerko agreed to come back for one more season knowing hed be a part-time player, but before Thursday, he had only eight at-bats in six games and started one.
